One thing that you shouldn't missed in Siem Reap is this temple - Pre Rup. In Khmer its mean : 'turning the body', believed that this temple was used for the cremation ritual with the ashes of the body being ritually rotated in different directions as the service progressed. It was built by King Rajendravarman around 961 or 962 AD - dedicated to Shiva. The architecture more or less looks alike East Mebon - as it was built by the same king.

From left : the magnificent Pre Rup; a small stone cistern was believed where the deceased King laid down for his final moment - departing the world.
From left : some scholars do believed that this small square laterite building situated at the northeastern part of the temple - the place where they kept the stele; one of the carving of 4-handed figure - can't remember who is she resemble to - if not mistaken the wife of the king or god.
From left : scenic panorama of Angkor jungle from Pre Rup - you can see the Angkor Wat a far in this picture - sorry unable to zoom for better view; stairs - a lot of it - if you plan to come here better build up your stamina first!
